There are a many rewards that our participants receive from attending the Brigade Rally. Primarily it is the pure pleasure of quarteting great songs and arrangements with a lot of other ambitious, well prepared singers.The contests and awards are not the be all and end all of the Brigade weekend. However, prizes are awarded to underscore the mission of the Brigade and draw attention to the winner’s exemplary commitment and subscription to the Brigade’s esprit de corps and its ethos.2008 Grand Prize: “The Guy We Were Glad We Sang With” Award
Last Year's 2007 Grand Prize: “The Guy We Were Glad We Sang With” Award: The quintessential object of the Brigade is to come prepared to “be the guy everyone was glad they sang with”. The top 2007 award, a large engraved *silver loving cup, was voted on by all participants. It was given to the man that not only came so well prepared that he made his quartet partners sound good but he was also profligate in his eagerness to share the fun of the Brigade ethos and songs with his fellow participants. The winner of this award is also invited to return the following year FREE.
The Quartet Tramp Award (right): This award is earned by the man who quartets in the most number of quartets during the weekend. Upon arrival everyone is issued a “dance card” and 126 of his own personalized stickers. After singing in a quartet, each member exchange stickers and place them on their own dance cards. These stickers also serve to allow singers to contact each other after the Brigade really should they wish to form quartets after the main event. The winner of this award is also invited to return the following year FREE.
The Quartet Contest Award: The quartet contest is formally adjudicated by well know qualified BHS personal including certified judges, and Society Directors, loosely following Society rules. After two round of competition, each member of the three top scoring quartets is awarded, accordingly, a genuine simulated Gold, Silver and Bronze (suitable for framing) acknowledging his accomplishment and his luck of the draw.
